Daffodils are so toxic, there's not a creature on Earth that is able to eat them. Artistic License Biology: At one point, Crystal whips up and eats a daffodil smoothie. "Home for the Holly Daze" shows her parents while her mother has a similar shade of skin as she does, her father is white, suggesting Alyssa is of mixed ancestry.
Ambiguously Brown: It's never mentioned what ethnicity Alyssa falls under. A borderline lovable case, as she usually doesn't cause any trouble and is frequently in the crowd supporting Willy or Rock on certain matters. When Rock Zilla is brought up in a conversation, they go on a long, insulting tirade about him until Willy can't take it anymore and shouts "Hey, don't talk that way about my parents!". Accidental Public Confession: In "Angela D'Angelo", Willy lies about his parentage when visiting his new girlfriend's ultra-conservative, rockstar-hating parents. Abhorrent Admirer: Buzz Sawchuck has a crush on Alyssa, who is repulsed by his advances. But as Willy knows all too well, when you're the son of The Rock Star, it's actually pretty hard to have a normal life, and sooner or later, being the kid of a celebrity is bound to get you noticed by others whether you want it or not. Alongside his Granola Girl mother Crystal (Rock's wife), older sister Serenity (Rock's Bratty Teenage Daughter), the family's former tour bus driver Skunk, and their pet Komodo dragon Mosh, Willy has just moved into the town of Silent Springs, where his dad has decided to settle down in a big fancy mansion after many years of touring the world. Well, 14-year-old Willy Zilla probably knows that better than anyone else in the world, for this mild-mannered boy is the son of Hot-Blooded rock 'n roll legend, Rock Zilla. This gave us inspiration: Not even close, since it didn't inspire Grojband (which aired on Teletoon a decade after My Dad the Rock Star first aired on the channel).Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the kid of a world-famous rock musician?.

Luckily, the whole series is found online. It never aired on Teletoon Retro (even though the show was over 10 years old by the time Teletoon Retro was shut down) and only ten episodes of the first season was released on DVD in America.
Even the theme song is this, a rarity for a pre-2007 Teletoon cartoon. Hard rock: It's in the title, so expect this for most of the music in the show. What's weird is that it aired on both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network in Latin America. It aired on Nicktoons and it also briefly aired on Nickelodeon. Cartoon Network Isn't Teletoon: Unfortunately, yes. Slice of Life: As told by the POV of a son of a rock star. Nicktoons aired the series in the US and the UK. 
The "American" part comes in due to the fact that Gene Simmons came up with the idea for the show (he loved Nelvana cartoons, can you blame him?). My Dad the Rock Star is a Canadian/French/American series that aired on Teletoon. and by "retired", we mean getting out of showbiz to rock in a "peaceful" mansion. What happens to a rock star when he retires to a peaceful village.
